Yandara Heart- Flow

Inspired by the morning flow class taught at Yandara Yoga Institute, this class will focus on a heart-felt approach to yoga in the here and now. We will flow gently and gracefully from posture to posture with emphasis on surrendering to the energy of the heart while remaining grounded and present in the moment. Some yoga experience suggested.

Ashtanga: Led Primary Series (Intermediate)

Intermediate students will be led through appropriate amounts of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. Emphasis of this practice is on synchronizing ujjayi breath with transitions and postures (vinyasa) to purify and strengthen the body as well as focusing on dristi ("gaze" or "looking place") and bandha (energy "lock" or "seal"). This is a vigorous practice and experience in yoga is required.

Rise and Shine with Classical Kundalini Yoga

This dynamic and energizing class integrates postures with oscillating and rhythmic movements of the spine. We will also combine breath, visualization of the chakras and mantra to clear the subtle energy passageways (nadis) and their junction points (chakras), promoting clarity, vitality and peace. All levels.

Open Studio for

Self-Practice

The studio will be open for all to explore the benefit of silent self-practice. A teacher will be in the studio practicing to inspire ideas.

** Please note, no instruction or adjustments will be given, books and other resources will be available to assist self-practice. Some yoga experience suggested.

Power Flow

A vibrant and uplifting vinyasa flow class to bring on the "ojas" (vigor). We will focus on postural alignment, expansion and breath to move gracefully and powerfully through standing postures, arm balances, inversions and deep stretches. Focus is on fun and freedom!

All levels.

Power / Core

Same as Power Flow and each class will include a sequence to promote the development of core strength and awareness.

Gentle Vinyasa

A soothing, flowing and soul-full approach to vinyasa yoga. Synchronizing full yogic breathing with asana (posture) with focus on restoring balance and equanimity to the body and mind.

Yin (Flexibility) / Hatha

Divided into two parts, this class will begin with static, deep connective tissue stretching, with postures held for several minutes to promote increased range of motion and increased energy flow. During the second half of this class we will integrate the benefits of our yin practice into our static standing postures, our breath and our relaxation.

Yoga for EveryBody

A class created by YOU! The practice ability and overall group energy will shape the content of this class. All are welcome and encouraged to discover yoga in safe and supportive group setting. All that is required is for you to "show up and let go."

Sports and Yoga

An integral approach to sports, mind, body and energy designed for one to realize and perform at a higher potential as an athlete and as a human being.

Using 5 Points of Yoga for Training the Body and 3 Points of Yoga for Training the Mind, we will explore an integral approach to cross-training and competition that includes both the body, mind and energy as equal participants towards this goal. This method will be used as a tool to balance and increase strength, postural alignment, flexibility and energy through set sequences of yoga postures and breath. We will also focus our awareness on the unlimited potential of mental strength and control using techniques of self-inquiry, visualization and meditation. It is the intention of this class to allow the ancient wisdom and practice of yoga to mingle and merge with the contemporary expression of health, vitality and concentration which is the essence of every sport.
